Miranda Hall Jiménez (she/they) is a multifaceted artist who graduated with a B.A. in Theatre and a Minor in Spanish Heritage Language and Latino/a Culture from the University of Maryland in College Park. Her artistry as an actor, director, and musician are deeply influenced by her Latinx culture and passion for the African Diaspora. 

Miranda is a 2020 Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival Irene Ryan Finalist. As an actor, she has performed in the Laura Pels Theatre at Roundabout Theatre Company, Studio K at the Kennedy Center, as well as the Jeffrey and Paula Gural Theatre at A.R.T./New York. They have had the pleasure of performing as a voice actor in The Detective Plays with We Happy Few Productions in Washington, D.C., as well as in two short films in the “New Visions, New Voices” program with The Drama League. She has also had the opportunity to workshop new plays with National Black Theatre, Ripe Time, and The Anthropologists. In 2022 they had the opportunity to perform in the world premieres of Beastgirl by C.Q. Quintana and Bloom Bloom Pow by Genevieve Simon.

During her final year at the University of Maryland in College Park, Miranda was the Assistant Director of the world premiere of She Kills Monsters: Virtual Realms by Qui Nguyen, alongside directors Jared Mezzocchi and Lisa Nathans. The script was later published by Samuel French. She also was the director of two short plays in UMD’s “Fearless New Play Festival” produced by playwright Jennifer Barclay. As a professional teaching artist with Round House Theatre and Shakespeare Theatre Company, Miranda is passionate about education and acting training for all ages. In New York, she has had the pleasure of studying Film/TV Acting with Stephen Singer at The Barrow Group and Suzuki/Viewpoints with SITI Company and trained under Akiko Aizawa and Leon Ingulsrud. 

Her studies as a musician include over seventeen years as a Suzuki trained classical violinist, as well as studying cello, piano, guitar (acoustic/electric), bass guitar, and ukulele independently. While in undergrad, she had the privilege to perform in the orchestra at St. Mary’s College of Maryland, as well as the University of Maryland Repertoire Orchestra as a violinist. As a professional, Miranda has had the opportunity to play violin on stage in the Off-Broadway world premiere of Bloom Bloom Pow.

Miranda hopes to use their passion and craft to continue storytelling on behalf of her ancestors and family members who could not tell their stories themselves.
